My sister’s old photographs
Alison is not just my sister – she is a reliable friend and a good adviser to me. I cannot imagine my life without this remarkable person. She is confident in life and generous with people. She never misses a chance to help people unscramble their problems. In addition, Alison is an amateur artist and in great demand with her friends – all of them want her to paint their portraits. She has got lots of them in her collection. But sometimes she loves to look at her old photographs when she was child, photographs of her as a young girl, photographs of her as a young married woman, with her husband and then with her daughter Milena. Her husband was a handsome young man of twenty eight with a friendly smile. She had fallen in love with him when she was only eighteen. Milena, their daughter, was a cute baby with fair hair and blue eyes. She started walking at that moment and Alison caught a memorable moment. She organized a special album and from time to time returned to those photographs of her youth. Family pictures attracted her attention with their brightness and simplicity – everything was natural and unique. Then Alison came back to her drawings – there were her friends’ and teachers’ portraits, and Milena’s first steps by her own. Her husband was encouraging her to paint and even planning to make a show of her works but she wouldn’t agree due to her being quite bashful and reserved.
